If you enjoy the Inktober event that happens every year on YouTube, I strongly suggest you check out Manelle's videos on the subject. This book is a compilation of all 31 ink drawings that she completed for Inktober. You get the added bonus of little stories that she tells about each image. A delightful addition to the images them selves. I purchased the Kindle version of the book and very much appreciate the quality of the images.

#Mermay is an Instagram event created by Tom Bancroft where artists draw mermaids throughout May and post them using the hashtag. This is my third self-published sketchbook for #mermay. In 2020 when everything was shutting down and feeling scary I wrote this story. It's about letting go of control and trusting that things will turn out well.

Mable arrives in Salt Lake City sure there won't be a mermaid for 100 miles. She soon learns that even a desert can harbor fantastic sea creatures. She teams up with Dr. Densley, another naiadologist to make the discovery of a lifetime. But, will all their hard work be ruined when Mable's brother Martin arrives in town?

In 2019 I wanted to create a new sketchbook for #mermay. #Mermay is an Instagram event created by Tom Bancroft where artists draw mermaids throughout May and post them using the hashtag. The year before I'd made my #mermay story up as I went but this year I wanted to create a story in advance. One that felt complete with a beginning, middle, and end where the main character goes on a journey. The story is about 5000 words and completing the illustrations for it took longer than expected. But my new friends and followers on Instagram were very supportive and I finished it by September. It's another self-published sketchbook and a companion to Mermendium.

I found Manelle randomly on instagram, I watched a video of her watercoloring mermaids from this book! I was so ecstatic to find out that it was becoming a book and that I didn't have to wait long for it either. It's absolutely stunning! My only complaint is I wish there was a hardcover version to match how amazing the inside is (I only shared some of my favorite pages there is definitely a lot more.) Can't wait for more possible future fantasy books!
